The service provided by DJ:Plus! Mobile Disco Entertainment is constantly being enhanced and improved. For some time now this continuous evolution has meant that the term "mobile disco" no longer represents the level of service and type of service provided.
The name DJ:Plus! was initially selected as I have from the onset consistently offered much more than other DJ services. DJ:Plus! Mobile Disco Entertainment has developed into a premium DJ/MC Entertainment service which not only delivers great music using high quality equipment but also offering creative planning which reflects each client's personal style, event direction and more, resulting in fun unique and memorable celebrations where everything just seems to come together naturally.
Accordingly, "Mobile Disco" will be dropped from the business name and DJ:Plus! Mobile Disco Entertainment will now officially become DJ:Plus! Entertainment. Over the next few weeks I will implement this change across the website and blog.
Nothing else in regards to the service has changed - DJ:Plus! Entertainment has always been and will continue to be "more than music". The service offered and provided will of course continue to be enhanced in order to provide clients with even better value and a more entertaining celebration.

Wedding Reception 30 May 2009 - Suzy and Matt Brown
To paraphrase the Sunday Telegraph item in my previous post; In a day when showers fell across Sydney, the clouds parted just long enough for Suzy and Matt to tie the knot. 90 guests attended the reception at Summer Salt Restaurant which is situated right in the middle of Cronulla’s famous strip of white sandy beaches. Summer Salt Restaurant is set on the sands of Elouera Beach and its huge windows, offer expansive, stunning views of the ocean and the coastline. The interminent inclement weather did not however dampen Suzy and Matt's spirit - no rain or wind was going to stop them from having one of the best days of their life.

Guests were served a fabulous meal which was followed by a heartfelt speech from Suzy's mum, Mary. Next up was Matt's father, Michael who also delivered some beautiful words and welcomed Suzy to the Brown family. Groomsman, Michael followed with an entertaining recount of how Suzy and Matt met.
It was now time for Matt to take to the microphone, thanking everybody present and expressing how much he had missed everybody, having been away in Europe with Suzy for the last eight months, and just how much they all individually meant to him. Matt then stated that he was not a very good public speaker and that no matter how hard he tried he would not be able to adequately express verbally exactly how he felt about Suzy. Matt had prepared a beautiful visual presentation, so with the aid of written words, photographs and music, Matt expressed his deep and undying love for Suzy and his total commitment to her - stirring emotions in both Suzy and quite a number of the guests - he did a great job in putting it all together, capturing the sentiment he felt - I dare say, it was one of the evening's highlights.
Finally Suzy expressed her thanks to everyone for their support and best wishes. As Suzy was about to thank her parents for everything they had ever done for her, she quite understandably, became a little emotional. She ended her speech by referring to Matt's presentation and publicly expressing her love for him - not that it was necessary as the love they have for each other is obvious for all to see.
Suzy and Matt proceeded with the cutting of their wedding cake and then took to the dancefloor for their first dance. Joined by the wedding party and guests it was time to celebrate and dance the night away.
It was certainly a very lovely reception. Suzy and Matt are a beautiful couple and it was a great honour and a priviledge to meet them and be a part of their wedding day. They unfortunately, will be unable to have a honeymoon for a little while due to Suzy's work commitments overseas. From my interaction with them both, I know that they will be very happy and their love for each other will continue to flourish.

Sunday Telegraph Wedding Story
I was very surprised this morning to see a photograph of Suzy Batkovic and a number of her bridesmaids in the Sunday Telegraph (31 May 2009). Why? Well I had the honour and privilege of being chosen to provide the entertainment for the reception. I hope to complete a detailed blog post on the reception in the next day or so, but wanted to share this newspaper report in the interim.

Wedding Reception 9 May 2009 - Phillipa Gately and Carwyn Potbury
It was a great pleasure to be a part of Phillipa and Carwyn's wedding day. Another beautiful couple who are obviously very much in love and who wanted their reception to be fun and relaxed. I believe this was achieved. The reception for 108 guests was held at Oliveto Ristorante & Bar which is set in the beautiful parklands of Brays Bay Reserve at Rhodes. Oliveto is an elegant yet stylish venue, with tranquil waterviews over the bay and lush green surroundings of the parkland. Mother nature also played her part and delivered a lovely Autumn day.
Following the entree, we heard from Phillipa's Mum Anne and Carwyn's Mum Helen. Both made very lovely speeches conveying the great happiness in their heart for this union. Guests were then treated to a beautiful main course and an equally delicious dessert. Next it was speeches from the Bestman Leigh, Groomsman Adam and Matron of Honour Elizabeth. This was followed by one of the guests, Judd whom I believe sings for the Sydney Opera Company, singing a "killer" version of Some Enchanted Evening culminating in rapturous applause. This set the scene for the guests of honour to speak, firstly Carwyn and then Phillipa - both made beautiful speeches which were full of emotion and love. They are quite obviously very happy - the smiles on their faces says it all!!!
Phillipa and Carwyn then made their way to the dance floor for their first dance and were joined part way through by the wedding party and guests. From here on in it was party time, in fact everybody was having so much fun that we went half an hour longer so that they could continue dancing.
I know Phillipa and Carwyn, together with little Sophia will have a wonderful life together. It gave me great joy to be a part of their day and help bring their dream to life. Their love will continue to grow and the memories from their wedding day will live forever.

Wedding Reception 18 April 2009 - Audris Siow and Lorne Chambers
Audris and Lorne currently live and work in London. This delightful couple decided to have their reception at the Australian Museum which was transformed into a very stylish venue and provided the perfect setting for their celebration. 82 local and international guests helped make it a very elegant, fun and highly memorable evening that Audris and Lorne will always treasure.
Prior to the wedding party entering, guests were treated to a visual presentation recounting the Audris and Lorne love story, setting the scene for what was a high energy entry into the reception.
Following a beautiful meal, it was time for the speeches - these speeches added both heartfelt and humorous moments to the proceedings. First we heard from Audris' father, Francis, followed by Lorne's dad Wayne, Audris & Lorne's "adoptive" father/Godfather Mike, Maid of Honour Leigha, Best Man Andrew and finally Lorne. During Audris' dad's speech he did offer Lorne some wise advice should they run into any unresolvable personal situation in the future, he said " ...if all else fails, take her shopping" this was greeting with much laughter. He then added, "buy her lots of jewelry" - certainly very wise advice indeed!! :). Wayne told of Lorne growing up in Western Australia and also mentioned how he had at one time been a singer.
A special moment during the speeches was when Mike presented Audris & Lorne with Lorne's grandfather's spade which Lorne used to always talk about. It had been framed and inscribed with something along the lines of (to the best of my memory), "This spade has been used to dig many holes, may it help dig you out of any holes that you both get into in the future". Leigha and Andrew told of how they had met Audris and Lorne - their and the prior speeches were full of emotion and funny stories which gave a great insight to to what absolutely lovely people Audris and Lorne are.
When Lorne finally took the microphone and made a lovely speech, he ended by singing "I've Got You Under My Skin" for Audris and to the delight of the guests.
Whilst Audris changed into alternative attire for the first dance, Lorne took the opportunity to entertain the guests with a few numbers. Take a look at the video below to see and hear an excerpt of Lorne singing "Night & Day".
Lorne then met Audris at the top of the Museum staircase and escorted her to the dancefloor for their first dance - please view the video to see this special first dance in it's entirety.

Wedding Reception 3 April 2009 - Hayley and Ross Hunter
Following a full week of rain, Hayley and Ross were blessed with a lovely sunny day for their wedding. The reception was held at Austinmer Surf Life Saving Club Function Centre just north of Wollongong. Attended by 82 guests it was a fun celebration with a relaxed beach theme - given that this venue has the beach on it's doorstep, it really was the perfect venue for Hayley and Ross's celebration. Hayley was also very honoured by being able to have two of her grandmothers and her great grandmother present at the reception.
Hayley, Ross and the remainder of the wedding party arrived accompanied by a bagpiper - this certainly got the attention of all the guests and they were greeted with cheers and applause.
Following a very lovely buffet, there were speeches from Hayley's father Russell, Bridesmaid Bec, Bestman Neil and then Ross and Hayley. During Bec's speech it was revealed that Hayley had actually been in love with Ross since she was 13 years old and how she would always convince Bec to walk past his house in case Ross happened to be out the front. Notice the permanent smiles both Hayley and Ross have in all the photos - they obviously were very happy and are very deeply in love.
From speeches to the cutting of the wedding cake and then Hayley and Ross hit the floor for their first dance to an acoustic version of the Chris Brown song, "Forever". Mid way through the song the wedding party and guests joined them and the celebration began in earnest.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Hayley and Ross on a number of occasions prior to the wedding. These meetings allowed me to understand the vision they had for their reception and to get to know them better - firstly I believe that I was able to assist in providing the reception they had always dreamed of, but more importantly, I got to see what a wonderful couple they are, the beauty they have within and the love that grows deeper for each other as each day passes. It was a great honour to have been given the opportunity and privilege to make a contribution to and be a part of their day.
