Wedding Song Remake - Perfect by Conkarah

Conkarah is a Jamaican artist who is a prolific, reggae singer and songwriter whose singles and videos are staples at reggae clubs across the globe. Ed Sheeran of course has had many hits over the last few years with many songs being favourites for weddings. "Perfect" was one such song and is still popular for weddings today.

Some time ago, Conkarah recorded a reggae cover of this song which I absolutely love and would be, dare I say it, perfect for a beach register signing or an upbeat first dance. There is also a duet version with Rosie Delmah. Check them both out below!

Wedding Song Remake - All Of Me by Ginny Blackmore & Barry Southgate

Kiwi artist Ginny Blackmore and fellow musician and friend, Barry Southgate deliver a stunning rendition of one of the most popular wedding songs from last year, John Legend's, "All Of Me". This is a great song for the register signing or for a first dance as it contains both female and male vocals - so it is as if the bride and groom are singing to each other. Accordingly, if you love the John Legend original version but wanted to put a different spin on an overly used song, this amazing cover would be just perfect! Only issue is, I was unable to find anywhere it could be purchased from. If you find somewhere, please be kind enough to leave a comment and let me know where.

All Of Me

What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down
What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you're crying you're beautiful too
The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood
You're my downfall, you're my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you

My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

Give me all of you
Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it's hard

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you

I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

Wedding Song - Better Today by Coffey Anderson

Coffey Anderson is an American singer-songwriter and wrote the song "Better Today" for his own wedding. It is a beautiful song and would be just perfect for the register signing, recessional or a first dance. There is the original version which has a slightly country flavour and the wedding version which is the one I prefer and features a piano.

Better Today

To see your face, to hear your voice
And oh, to touch you is a dream come true
So I'm standing here, with my hand held out
Knowing that your love will never fade, I stand amazed without a doubt

And I wanna hear your voice, in the morning when I rise
I think I know I'm just a normal man, only made of sand except when you're by my side
Will you love me, teach me, don't leave me I pray
And when I, and I'm thinking of the times
Your hands in mine, together we will stay
You made me better today
Better than I was before
And now my heart can rest and I will search no more
You made me better today, today, today

My heart has wings
Oh you take me away
And every prayer I've ever prayed was answered today
So I'm standfing here, with my hand held out
Knowing that my love will never leave
My hearts on my sleeve and now I believe

And I wanna hear your voice in the morning when I rise
I think I know I'm just a normal man, only made of sand except when you're by my side
Will you love me, teach me, don't leave me I pray
And when I, and I'm thinking of the times
Your hands in mine, together we will stay
You made me better today
Better than I was before
And now my heart can rest and I will search no more
You made me better today

I stand proclaimed, true love is here to stay
I stand proclaimed, forever starts today
Today...
You made me better today
Than I was before
And now my heart can rest and I will search no more
Cuz you made me better today, than I was before
And now my heart can rest
And I will search no more
You made me better today
Today...
Made me better today.

Wedding Song Remake - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by Sleeping At Last

Chances are that this song and lyrics will ring a bell for most of you: “I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more.” Place the melody? It’s an incredibly popular song from the late eighties by The Proclaimers. Well, this cover by Sleeping At Last, which featured on "Grey’s Anatomy", is so heartfelt and changes what some consider a cheesy song to one which has so much emotion and would be magical for a processional or first dance. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)

When I wake up, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you.
And when I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you.

And when I come home, yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's coming home to you.
And when I'm dreamin', well I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about the time when I'm with you.

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles
To fall down at your door

When I'm workin', yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's workin' hard for you.
And when the money comes in for the work I do
I'll pass along every cent of it to you.

And when I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's lonely without you.
And if I grow old, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you.

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles
To fall down at your door
[x2]

When I wake up, well I hope I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's waking up to you.
And when I'm dreamin', well I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about the time I had with you.

Wedding Song Remake - You're The One That I Want by Angus & Julia Stone

"You're The One That I Want" is a well known song from the film Grease and originally sung by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. This remake by Angus & Julia Stone has been stripped back and been given a completely different treatment which gives the song a whole new feel and meaning. Perfect for a wedding ceremony, background music or even a first dance.

You're The One That I Want

I got chills, they're multiplying
And I'm losing control
'Cause the power you're supplying
It's electrifying

You better shape up 'cause I need a man
And my heart is set on you
You better shape up, you better understand
To my heart I must be true

You're the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Honey, the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Honey, the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Can't you see, oh yes indeed, oh yes indeed

If you're filled with affection
You're too shy to convey
Meditate my direction
Feel your way

You better shape up 'cause I need a man
Who can keep me satisfied
You better shape up, you better prove,
That my faith is justified
That I'm sure down deep inside

You're the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Honey, the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Honey, the one that I want, ooh ooh ooh
Can't you see, oh yes indeed.
Oh yes indeed.

Wedding Song Remake - Lovesong by Adele or Jes

"Lovesong" (also referred to as "Love Song") is a song originally recorded by the English band, The Cure. Adele recorded a version of this song for her "21" Album, slowing it down and making it much more sentimental. Adele had first heard this song at her first concert ever, which happened to be The Cure. Cure lead singer Robert Smith originally wrote this as a wedding present for his fiancée, Mary, shortly before their marriage.

American artist, Jes, also recorded a cover of this song. Whilst her original cover was a dance version, she also recorded an acoustic version which like Adele's cover makes it much more sentimental. Both these versions would be perfect as background music at a wedding or a first dance.

Lovesong

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I'll always love you

Wedding Songs - I Choose You by Sara Bareilles

The first time I heard "I Choose You" by Sara Bareilles’, I knew that it was perfect for an unforgettable First Dance or a cheerful walk down the aisle. This sweet tune will provide the perfect backdrop to your day, but it is the lyrics that are the real star here.

I Choose You

Let the bough break, let it come down crashing
Let the sun fade out to a dark sky
I can't say I'd even notice it was absent
Cause I could live by the light in your eyes

I'll unfold before you
Would have strung together
The very first words
Of a lifelong love letter

Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you
(Yeah)

There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me that you could not come true
Just love's illusion
But then you found me and everything changed
And I believe in something again

My whole heart
Will be yours forever
This is a beautiful start
To a lifelong love letter

Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you

We are not perfect
We'll learn from our mistakes
And as long as it takes
I will prove my love to you

I am not scared of the elements
I am underprepared, but I am willing
And even better
I get to be the other half of you

Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you

Wedding Song Remake - Marry Me by Martina McBride & Pat Monahan

"Marry Me" is the title of a song written by Pat Monahan and recorded by his group Train. Train recorded two versions of this song (see separate post here). Country music artist Martina McBride recorded a duet version with Pat Monahan for her eleventh studio album, Eleven. It was released as the third single from the album on March 26, 2012. The female voice takes the song to another dimension and the fact that it is a duet with Pat Monahan, the original singer, makes it more than just a cover. The two voices are akin to a bride and groom singing to each other, and whilst the original is already widely used at weddings, this version is a great alternative.

Marry Me

Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do

Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way

Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Together could never be close enough for me
To feel like I am close enough to you
You'll wear white and I'll wear out the words "I love you"
And "you're beautiful"
Now that the wait is over
And love and has finally shown her my way

Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies

Marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
I will
Come on say you will
You know I will
Marry me

Wedding Song Remake - Forever by Boyce Avenue

Boyce Avenue are three brothers from Florida in the USA and release both originals and cover versions of popular songs. Their acoustic cover of the Chris Brown song "Forever" makes it just perfect for a first dance or as background music during pre-dinner drinks or the reception.

Forever

It's you
And me
Moving at the speed of light into eternity
Tonight
Is the night
To join me in the middle of ecstasy
Feel the melody and the rhythm of the music around you
Around you
Imma take you there
Imma take you there
So don't be scared, I'm right here
We can go anywhere, go anywhere
But first
It's your chance, take my hand

It's like I waited my whole life
For this one night
It's gonna be me, you, and the dance floor
Cause we only got one night
Double your pleasure
Double your fun
And dance forever (ever ever)
And forever (ever ever)
And forever (ever ever)
Forever on the dance floor

Feels like we're on another level
Feels like our love's intertwined
We can be two rebels
Breaking the rules
Me and you, you and I
All you gotta do is watch me
Look what I can do with my feet
Baby, feel the beat inside
I'm driving you take the front seat
I just need you to trust me
girl, girl, girl

(It's like I)
It's like I waited my whole life
For this one night
Its gonna be me, you, and the dance floor
Cause we only got one night
Double your pleasure
Double your fun
And dance forever (ever ever)
And forever (ever ever)
And forever (ever ever)
Forever on the dance floor

I waited my whole life (whole life)
For this one night (one night)
Its gonna be me, you, and the dance floor (dance floor)
Cause we only got one night
Double your pleasure
Double your fun
Dance with me Cmon

Imma take you there
Imma take you there
So don't be scared, I'm right here
We can go anywhere, go anywhere
But first
It's your chance, take my hand

It's like I waited my whole life
For this one night
Its gonna be me, you, and the dance floor
Cause we only got one night
Double your pleasure
Double your fun
And dance forever (ever ever)
Forever (ever ever)
And forever (ever ever)

Forever (ever ever)
And Forever (ever ever)
Forever

Wedding Tips - Choosing Your First Dance

Having entertained at many weddings over the past 35 odd years, I have had the honour to introduce many couples as they stepped onto the dance floor for the first time as husband and wife. With family and friends watching, there can be a lot of pressure on a moment where you should be able to breathe easy, relax and enjoy the beginning of your new life together after all the time spent planning the wedding. Depending on the level of nervousness and extent to which the couple have prepared, I have seen some slow dances, fast dances, great dances, embarrassing dances and many truly beautiful and emotional dances.

Simply Bridal has created a flow chart that provides a fun way to select the type of first dance song and how to dance to it.  This flow chart can assist you select one of the most important songs in your life but it is important to understand that the style of dancing will also depend on how much time you are prepared to devote to practicing if necessary.

Once you have selected the type of song and dance that suits you best, how do you select the perfect song to mark the beginning of your new life together?  Here are a few tips and ideas that may help you decide!

1. Special Memories. Think about all the wonderful times you have shared as a couple. Was there a certain song playing when you met or at the proposal? Did you ever dance to some fun songs or dazzle with your extraordinary moves? What was the first song you both danced to after you met or after you started dating? Memories like these are a great starting point when picking your song. What is your Ultimate Love Song?  You do not necessarily have to use any of these songs for your first dance, but they can be a great starting point.

2. Favourite Artist. What music do you listen to most. Regardless whether it is pop, rock or country, go through your favourite artists songs to determine if there is something that stands out and that you truly enjoy. The music you listen to the most is usually music which lifts your spirits and makes your day more enjoyable, so it can provide some guidance for your final choice.

3. Write It Down. Ever hear a song on the radio, television or a commercial that you liked but could never remember it later?  Anytime you hear a song that you love, quickly write it down or make a note on your phone.

4. Be True To Yourselves. Consider the style of your ceremony and reception. Not that this needs to decide your first dance, but it can certainly help! If you are having a traditional reception, getting down to some hip-hop may not be the most appropriate option. Ensure that your song reflects your personalities as a couple and fits in with your wedding theme. Your song selection should make you feel both happy and excited!

5. Research. The Internet, movies, wedding books and magazines are full of suggestions. There are ideas everywhere just waiting to be found!

6. Ask others. Ask your family, friends and work colleagues for suggestions. Their ideas may be something that would have never crossed your mind, yet be absolutely perfect!

6. Check The Lyrics. It is very important to check the lyrics of  your song choice, You may love a particular song for its melody or chorus, but the remainder of song may not actually be appropriate. A song with inappropriate lyrics may just kill the mood.

8. Dance it Out! When you have both narrowed it down to a handful of songs, take the time to try dancing to them. Not only will this be fun and bring you closer together, but you will also be practicing some steps for the big day!

In conclusion, your first dance as husband and wife is a special moment that will be remembered for many years. Whichever song and dance style you choose for your special day, remember that it is ultimately a special time meant to be shared by the both of you. For some a choreographed routine is the go. For others, a simple slow dance, swaying to a favourite song while wrapped in each others arms, works best.  The song and style of dancing you select is up to you, but it should stay true to your personalities, reflect the feelings that you share, and be meaningful to you as a couple.

Wedding Song - Rest Of My Life by Bruno Mars

This is a beautiful song by Bruno Mars and featuring Phillip Lawrence that appeared on a mixtape by DJ Xfactor entitled, The Lost Planet. From what I can ascertain, this was unauthorised by Bruno Mars and the song is not legally available anywhere for purchase. The YouTube video below is one of many that have been posted by fans on the Bruno Mars Official Website.

It would be a perfect song for a wedding, including, the register signing, cake cutting or first dance. I have included it in this series of posts even though it is not legally available, in the hope that enough interest will be generated, that whoever owns the rights to the song will eventually release it.

Rest Of My Life

Every day I wake up next to an angel
More beautiful than words could say
They said it wouldn't work but what did they know?
Cause years passed and we're still here today
Never in my dreams did I think that this would happen to me

As I stand here before my woman
I can’t fight back the tears in my eyes
Oh how could I be so lucky
I must've done something right
And I promise to love her for the rest of my life

Seems like yesterday when she first said hello
Funny how time flies by when you're in love
It took us a lifetime to find each other
It was worth the wait cause I finally found the one
Never in my dreams did I think that this would happen to me

As I stand here before my woman
I can’t fight back the tears in my eyes
Oh how could I be so lucky
I must've done something right
And I promise to love her for the rest of my life

Wedding Songs - The Father Daughter Dance

The father daughter dance, whilst not a mandatory dance at every wedding, is such a sweet and special tradition that acknowledges the special relationship between a father (or some father figure like a grandfather, step-father, uncle or family friend) and daughter and can be a very precious moment. Of course, whether you choose to have this dance at your wedding, or not, is entirely up to you and/or your personal circumstances.

Should you decide that you wish to honour your father in this manner; the question of the right song selection comes up. Some fathers and daughters have a perfect song that means something to them or represents their relationship, and the song choice is easy. If you don’t already have a song in mind for your father daughter dance, here is a list of some that are often used because they fit the occasion so well and some that are not used quite so often. Some of the songs are sentimental and sweet, some are upbeat and fun but all of them can be related to a father-daughter relationship, or to the sentiments of your wedding day, between a father and daughter.  Enjoy!

Wedding Song Remake - Your Song by Ellie Goulding

Your Song is a beautiful ballad originally composed and performed by Elton John with lyrics by Bernie Taupin in 1970. In 2010, Ellie Goulding covered the song for the re-release of her "Lights" album retitled "Bright Lights". Ellie performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton to which they shared their first dance. This version which features just piano and strings and some harmonies towards the end really draws out the tenderness in the lyrics and highlights the loveliness of the melody. As Prince William and Kate found, it would be perfect for a first dance.

Your Song

It's a little bit funny
This feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money
But boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where
We both could live

So excuse me forgetting
But these things I do
See I've forgotten if
They're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is
What I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody,
This is your song
It may be quite simple but
Now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world

If I was a sculptor
But then again no
Or girl who makes potions in a traveling show
I know it's not much but
It's the best I can do
My gift is my song and
This one's for you

Ohh [x8]

And you can tell everybody
This is your song
It may be quite simple but
Now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world

Wedding Song Remake - Strangers In The Night by Cake

"Strangers In The Night" with the music written by Ivo Robić, arranged by Bert Kaempfert and lyrics by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyderand was first released and made famous by Frank Sinatra in 1966. Cake covered the song and it first appeared on the Stubbs the Zombie Soundtrack in 2005 and later, on Cake’s B-Sides and Rarities Album.

It is a great cover with Cake giving it a refreshing modern lift. This song would be suitable at a wedding as guest arrival music, pre-dinner drink music, dinner music and of course the obvious…..the Cake cutting!

Strangers In the Night

Strangers in the night
Exchanging glances
Wondering in the night
What were the chances
We'd be sharing love
Before the night was through

Something in your eyes
Was so inviting
Something in your smile
Was so exciting,
Something in my heart
Told me I must have you

Strangers in the night
Two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment When we said our first hello
Little did we know
Love was just a glance away
A warm embracing dance away and

Ever since that night
We've been together
Lovers at first sight
In love forever
It turned out so right
For strangers in the night

Ever since that night
We've been together
Lovers at first sight
In love forever
It turned out so right
For strangers in the night

Wedding Song Remake - Someone To Watch Over Me by Amy Winehouse

“Someone to Watch Over Me" is a song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the 1926 musical ‘Oh, Kay!’. Popularised by Frank Sinatra in 1946, the song was recorded by Amy and appears on the Deluxe Edition of her album “Frank”.

This is a great cover of an amazing standard and makes for a splendid choice for either the Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dance.

Someone To Watch Over Me

There's a saying old
Says that love is blind
Still we're often told
"Seek and ye shall find"
So I'm going to seek
A certain lad I've had in mind

Looking everywhere
Haven't found him yet
He's the big affair
I cannot forget
Only man I ever think
Of with regret

I'd like
To add his initial
To my monogram
Tell me
Where is the shepherd
For this lost lamb?

There's a somebody
I'm longin' to see
I hope that he turns
Out to be
Someone to watch over me

I'm a little lamb
Who's lost in the wood
I know I could
Always be good
To one
Who'll watch over me

Although he may
Not be the man some
Girls think
Of as handsome
To my heart
He carries the key

Won't you tell him please
To put on some speed
Follow my lead
Oh, how I need
Someone to watch over me

Won't you tell him please
To put on some speed
 Follow my lead
Oh, how I need
Someone to watch over me
Someone to watch over me

Wedding Song Remake - Sea Of Love by Cat Power

This cover is just so angelic and beautiful. "Sea of Love" (written by John Phillip Baptiste and George Khoury), has been covered many times. The Cat Power version was originally recorded in 2000 for their album, "The Covers Record" but became very popular once it appeared in the Juno movie in 2007.

Such a simple, beautiful, heart melting version. Perfect for a First Dance.

Sea Of Love

Come with me
My love
To the sea
The sea of love

I wanna tell you
How much
I love you

Do you remember
When we met
That's the day
I knew you were my pet

I wanna tell you
How much
I love you

Come with me
My love
To the sea
The sea of love

I wanna tell you
How much
I love you

Wedding Song Remake - Unchained Melody by Cyndi Lauper

Unchained Melody is arguably one of the most popular songs in history.  Unchained Melody was written in 1955 by Hy Zaret and put to music created by Alex North. Unchained Melody has become among the most recorded songs written in the 20th century and it is believed that there are approximately 500 different versions of this song to date. Interestingly,  the song does not actually include the word "unchained".

In 1965, The Righteous Brothers recorded a version of the song which resulted in it climbing as high as the number four spot in the music charts.  When Jerry Zucker was filming the movie, Ghost, in 1990, he used this version for the hot and heavy lovemaking scene between the movie's two co-stars, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. The huge success of the movie, catapulted this popular version to the number one spot and made it very popular for use at weddings.

In 2003, Cyndi Lauper recorded an album consisting of cover versions of jazz standards which included  Unchained Melody. Cyndi Lauper interprets the melody and dynamics in such a way that make this version really shine. This is a great music choice for a Bride & Groom’s First Dance.

Unchained Melody

Whoa! My love, my darling,
I hunger for your touch,
Alone. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love to me.

Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea,
To the open arms of the sea.
Lonely rivers sigh, wait for me, wait for me,
I'll be coming home, wait for me.

Whoa! My love, my darling,
I hunger, hunger!, for your love,
For love. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love to me.

Wedding Song Remake - Only You by Train

"Only You (And You Alone)" (usually shortened to and commonly known as "Only You") is a pop song composed by Buck Ram. It was recorded most successfully by The Platters,  Train covered the song in 2010 putting their own spin on the song by using a little of the instrumentation from “Hey Soul Sister” at the beginning, resulting in a more upbeat version of the song.

Train’s version, like The Platters original, would be great for a First Dance. It would also be suitable to be played as the Wedding Guests Arrive, during Pre-Dinner Drinks or during Dinner.

Only You

Only you can make this world seem right
Only you can make the darkness bright
Only you and you alone
Can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love for only you

Only you can make this change in me
For it's true, you are my destiny
When you hold my hand
I understand the magic that you do
You're my dream come true
My one and only you

Only you can make this change in me
For it's true, you are my destiny
When you hold my hand
I understand the magic that you do
You're my dream come true
My one and only you

Wedding Song Remake - What A Wonderful World by Katie Melua & Eva Cassidy (Duet)

“What a Wonderful World” is a song that was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and released as a single in 1967. In December 2007, Katie Melua released a cover of this song, in which she sang with a recording of the late Eva Cassidy and is a great alternative to the Louis Armstrong version.

It would be perfect for the wedding reception pre-dinner dinks, background during dinner, Father/ Daughter or Mother/Son Dances.

What A Wonderful World

I see trees that are green,
red roses too
I watch them bloom
for me and you
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed days,
the dark sacred nights
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow,
so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
of the people passing by

I see friends
shakin’ hands,
saying “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”

Colours of the rainbow,
so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
of the people passing by

I see friends
shakin’ hands,
saying “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”

I see trees of green, red roses too
I watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself,
what a wonderful world
