Where are you located, and what geographical area(s) do you service?
Our shop/studio is at Dulwich Hill in Sydney’s Inner West. We deliver throughout Sydney. We also have many clients who transport their cakes to Bowral, the Hunter Valley and the South Coast. We also freight cakes quite often to regional and interstate airports.

How long have you been in business?
3 1/2 years under this name and 18 years in the industry.

What drew you to Cake Design as a profession?
I worked in cake shops while studying for my art degree and fell into baking shortly afterwards which led to my career as a decorator. I was very fortunate to find work at one of the most prestigious Sydney companies early on, and developed an eye for quality, detail and design.

What do you feel sets you apart as a Cake Designer?
My extensive experience making literally thousands of wedding cakes, has taught me what works and what doesn't. Proportion, balance and harmony are crucial in achieving the most refined results, and clients can feel confident that if we tailor a design to suit their scheme that it will turn out exactly as we have discussed. We also take a lot of care in the preparation of our cakes to ensure that they taste as good as they look. All your cakes are filled and layered with creamy ganache and masked to prevent drying and produce a perfect silhouette. Another of our strengths is that we hand make all our flowers and decorations rather than using the standard imported ones. The results are much finer and we can customise to a greater degree with styles and colouring.

What do you love most about your job?
Nothing beats seeing all the beautiful cakes come together at the end of the week, and also hearing back from couples who were thrilled with their cakes. We are lucky to be working with clients who are planning a happy and special event, and who often bring beautiful elements from their scheme to show us. We find that we are continually working with new themes and designs which keeps our work engaging.

A real love for the wedding industry! Contributing to the happiness and memories of a couple. I feel the utmost satisfaction from seeing all the smiles on everyone’s face as soon as the bride is visible!

We are located in Five Dock. Most of our work is within the Sydney area, however we do travel on request.

Diverze Photography has been established since 1996, we have been in our current studio for 10 years.

What drew you to Photography as a profession?
For me (Dianne) when we started, digital photography didn’t exist. The art of being able to photograph a subject and then watch it come to life in the darkroom was mesmerising. In Veronique’s case, she always had a keen interest in photography, after being in the hair and make-up industry for a while she returned to a field that she was always drawn too.

What do you feel sets you apart as a Photographers?
We have 2 photographers shoot each of our weddings, ensuring all candid moments are captured. We are a boutique studio, clients will deal with the same people from the initial consultation through to when they pick up their discs / album.

What do you love most about your job?
Being chosen to capture and share someone’s special day is a privilege, working and traveling to so many different places is also a highlight.

I was very pleasantly surprised to accidentally stumble upon 27 wonderful photographs of Audris and Lorne earlier today. There are some beautiful pre-wedding, wedding and after wedding shots all taken by Jonathan Ho .

I had the great pleasure of performing at their wedding in Sydney in April of last year - as it happens this coming Sunday will be their 1st anniversary, so Happy Anniversary Audris and Lorne!!!!

What Do Wedding Clients Really Need From Their Wedding Entertainment?

If you take some time to peruse the myriad of wedding DJ web sites, you may quickly draw the conclusion that what is needed for a great wedding reception is speakers and lighting equipment - as this is what is predominately promoted. Speakers and lights are really only tools which will assist the entertainer deliver their performance, not unlike a photographer in that a camera helps them capture the moment, however how it is captured has little to do with the camera itself and a lot to do with the photographer's artistic flair, creativity and talent.

Unfortunately, it has been my experience, that this leads most couples to think that music is all that is required for an enjoyable reception, if this were the case everybody would use some form of recorded music playback system. I have always believed that there is much more to wedding entertainment than just music - as music on its own cannot produce a memorable and fun wedding, yet there are many wedding entertainers which promote this misleading notion. Music is a very powerful tool, there is no denying this fact, used properly it can evoke feelings and stir emotions to create some wonderful memories, but this takes skill and talent to know what to play and precisely when to play it.

I feel that Brides & Grooms really need more than music from their Wedding Entertainment, here is a list of what I believe they really need:

1. someone who can deliver the kind of wedding reception they want,
2. ideas and advice for their planning process,
3. a team player who is comfortable taking charge,
4. a confident and eloquent spokesperson,
5. unique skills and talent to make the celebration happen,
6. a reliable professional business person with the right attitude, and lastly
7. great sounding music from professional grade equipment.

Look for these characteristics when researching your wedding entertainment - I guarantee that if you find a Wedding DJ who can provide these, your wedding will be transformed from just ordinary to absolutely extra-ordinary!
