Sunday Telegraph Weddings Section - Lara & Angus

So pleased to see Lara & Angus featured as a full page in Sydney's Sunday Telegraph, Wedding Section on the weekend.

Their wedding was so much fun and I greatly enjoyed working with them to help create the reception of their dreams.

Wedding Reception & Ceremony | 12 February 2022 | Deana & Joseph | Parklands, Blackheath, Blue Mountains

The weather forecast for Deana and Joseph's Blue Mountains wedding was a mixed bag with 40% chance of rain expected. The rain came and went but the big grey clouds overhead seemed to stretch on forever. At midday as we were preparing for the ceremony, there were glimpses of blue sky and pockets of sunshine, then the heavens opened up and the rain came down, followed not long after by clear skies.

It was difficult to predict whether we would be safe to have the ceremony by the lake or play safe and utilise the indoor backup option. Eventually the call was made to hold the ceremony indoors (which was the right call for as soon as Deana had walked down the aisle, the rain started bucketing down and continued off and on throughout the rest of the day and evening).

But Deana and Joseph took it in their stride, made some slight allowances and let the day unfold with out fuss or stress. They selected Parklands Country Garden & Lodges in Blackheath as the location for their ceremony and reception. Parklands is a beautiful secluded retreat within 28 acres of manicured grounds, reminiscent of a European great estate and is a perfect location for a wedding.

It was a beautiful ceremony, which was officiated by Myriam Diaz, and then finally, following two postponements, Deana and Joseph were officially declared a married couple!! There was much joy all around for them that they were now married after having waited so long. A few group and family photographs followed, taken by Photographer; Jack Jones, before our newlyweds headed out during a break in the weather for photographs around the picturesque property.

Guests availed themselves to a Grazing Table filled with delectable delights whilst being entertained by accordionist, Ross Maio. Guests may have felt like they were in a grand house in Tuscany during this time.

Soon enough, it was time to welcome our gorgeous couple and their wedding party! All members of the wedding party entered to great applause and cheers. A highlight was their little boy, Luca, entering in an open top motorised car (which was driven via remote control). Of course the loudest cheers were for Deana and Joseph.

The next part of the evening was taken up by guests being served a delicious meal, many heartfelt speeches, father daughter and mother son dances, interactive activities and games which not only involved some of the guests, but entertained and delighted them all - so much fun!

As they say time flies when you are having fun, and in what seemed to be no time at all, it was time for the cutting of the cake and Deana and Josephs very first dance as a married couple. Part way through, they were joined by their baby boy, Luca.

It was then time to invite everyone up to the dance floor; and boy did they dance. They danced to classics, traditional songs, dance hits, urban hits and more. It was obvious everyone wanted to celebrate with our beautiful couple. A slight pause for the bouquet toss and it was then time for the farewell dance. Everybody was invited to join Deana and Joseph for the final dance of the evening for which they had selected "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. It was great to see everyone slow dance during the first half of the song and then jumping to the second half of it

There was a light drizzle at this time, but we could not let them leave without their sparkler exit, so a sparkler exit we gave them to end the celebration as they headed to begin a new life as a married couple!!

Deana and Joseph's wedding day reflected who they are in everything they did.. relaxed, fun and completely perfect for each other! I had such a great time getting to know them better over the past 20 months as we planned their wedding. Despite some minor challenges with the elements, it really was perfect, just like their love for each other. These two light each other up and are so deeply in love it literally radiates off them. It was such an honour to have been able to be a part of this celebration.

Thank you Deana and Joseph for your trust in me as your Blue Mountains Wedding MC and Blue Mountains Wedding DJ, for being all about the FUN and for not letting the crazy weather dampen your amazing day! Marriage is the combination of two hearts and two souls, which join each other on the day of your wedding. Wishing you both a very happy and blessed married life! May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!
