ABIA Wedding Industry Awards 10 October 2023

I hope this post finds you well and filled with happiness. It is a privilege to reach out to you today and express my heartfelt gratitude. Your unwavering support has meant the world to me, and can't thank you enough for being a part of this incredible journey.

In the recent 2023 NSW ABIA Wedding Awards, DJ:Plus! Entertainment had the honour of being a finalist in both of the core categories in which services are provided: Master of Ceremonies (MC) and Disc Jockey (DJ) at this prestigious event, and it's all thanks to the wonderful couples who have trusted me with their special day. The recognition and success achieved in these awards are a testament to the love and trust that you, my couples, have placed in me.

However, there's a unique challenge that DJ:Plus! Entertainment faces in these awards, one that potentially makes it increasingly difficult to qualify. The introduction of a volume criteria a few years ago, has made qualifying a real test of mettle. It's not just about the quality of the service, which I always strive to keep at the highest standard, but also about the number of events I undertake. This is where it becomes tough for a sole operator like DJ:Plus! Entertainment who takes on no more than 20 weddings per year.

The commitment to providing personalised, one-of-a-kind experiences for each wedding has always been at the forefront of my service. I value quality over quantity, and it's a belief I hold very dear. As a result, meeting the volume criteria can be a limiting factor in qualifying. But that's not something I will ever compromise on, because I firmly believe that your special day deserves nothing less.

So, while DJ:Plus! Entertainment may not have secured the award and is unlikely to secure it in the future due to the volume criteria, please know that your support, trust, and the wonderful moments I've shared with you, mean far more than any accolade and I am thrilled to have been a finalist and ranked amongst the best in the State. It's your happiness and satisfaction that keep me going, and that's what truly counts in the end.

ABIA Wedding Industry Awards 23 August 2022

Early in August 2022, I was notified by ABIA Weddings Australia, that I had qualified as a finalist in the 2022 NSW Wedding Industry Awards for both Master of Ceremony (MC) and Disc Jockey (DJ).

Finalists are shortlisted, all having achieved an average customer satisfaction rating above 95% and met the average benchmark number of nominations in the respective Award Category. Given that DJ:Plus! Entertainment focus is on quality over quantity, I was of the belief that it would be difficult to qualify, however it appears I was proven wrong.

To my surprise, I even managed to achieve Top 5 in Master Of Ceremonies and Top 10 in Disc Jockey against many colleagues whom entertain at 3 to 5 times the amount of weddings than DJ:Plus! Entertainment.

Thank you to all my beautiful couples who have allowed me to play a part in their special day. Your trust will never be be forgotten and you all touch my heart in ways you may never realise.

Out of the blue, I was notified that I had won the "Wedding DJ Service Of The Year" category in the Corporate Live Wire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2022.

From my understanding, the awards are determined based on an individual or business being service focused and taking an innovative approach to deliver exceptional performance. Corporate Live Wire then look at each case individually and assess how more effective and innovative processes have been harnessed and ideas implemented which will transform their industry for the better.

Whilst, I have no idea who nominated DJ:Plus! Entertainment, I am eternally grateful for all my beautiful couples. Your satisfaction and happiness is what drives me and there is no greater honour for me than to be trusted to help create wonderful wedding memories.

For this reason, LUXlife launched the Global Wedding Awards to highlight those that have remained steadfast and unwavering in this commitment and pursuit towards perfection.

ABIA National Designer Of Dreams Awards 2022

Under normal circumstances, the Designer Of Dreams Awards are held on the Gold Coast, however, as the past two years have not been normal, this event was held online. In order to qualify for the award, wedding businesses have to be rated & reviewed with ABIA over 4 consecutive years, achieving an average customer-rating above 95% from a strong volume of clients.  

First, foremost and most importantly, I wish to thank all my beautiful couples for investing their trust in me and allowing me to be a part of their wedding day. It means a lot to me and feel truly humbled and honoured and to receive this prestigious award on top of being a part of your wedding day, is the icing on the cake.

The National Designer of Dreams Award represents the highest achievement in Australia’s Wedding Industry and whilst I have been fortunate to receive several over the years, this one is a little more significant to me. 

Why you may ask? Given the impact of the last two years on weddings and the fact that a volume criteria was introduced a couple of years back ('strong volume of clients' mentioned above), this inherently makes it so much more difficult for DJ:Plus! Entertainment to even qualify, due to my business model limiting the number of weddings taken each year to no more than 25, in order to ensure that each of my couples receives the greatest level of attention and service excellence.

Going forward, given this business model and the new criteria, I am uncertain that I will continue to qualify, however regardless, I WILL continue to deliver at the highest level possible and strive to exceed expectations for each and every one of my couples. 

BIG congratulations go out to all my industry colleagues and friends who also qualified and were successful in receiving an award. It was greatly deserved by each and everyone of them.

To conclude, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every person who has touched me in whatever capacity. I am deeply grateful for ALL of you and the opportunity to be able to be recognised for something I am extremely passionate about.

ABIA Wedding Industry Awards 27 October 2021

On Wednesday the 27 October 2021, DJ:Plus! Entertainment was very proud to once again be a finalist in the 24th New South Wales' ABIA Wedding Industry Awards once again. ABIA Australia Weddings personally congratulated DJ:Plus! Entertainment on its achievement as one of New South Wales' Best & Trusted Wedding Businesses!

DJ:Plus! Entertainment won the NSW Award six times previously and achieved runner-up and third status many times since 2000, but qualifying as a finalist, being considered one of the best in the State, based on feedback from my actual couples, is truly an honour. What makes it even more special, is that in 2019 ABIA Australia Weddings introduced a quantity of events criteria in determining the results - this makes it  more difficult for DJ:Plus! Entertainment as its focus is on quality, not quantity and as such does not accept more than 25 weddings in any twelve month period. To qualify against those that perform at more than 100 plus weddings a year, is an achievement in itself and testament to the high level of service provided.

ABIA Weddings Australia went on to say that despite the impacts of COVID-19, Wedding Businesses, like DJ:Plus! Entertainment, had exceeded the expectations of their wedding clients in what was the hardest year for the New South Wales Wedding Industry. This professionalism, proficiency and kindness had not gone unnoticed by their couples.

Given the "Covid" year that was, it was wonderful to receive notification that DJ:Plus! Entertainment had been awarded the title of Best Wedding MC & Wedding DJ 2021 - Australia at the 2021 LUXlife Magazine Global Wedding Awards! The notification goes on to say, "DJ:Plus! Entertainment has demonstrated excellence and commitment in this industry, even in the face of uncertainty and more than ever, we believe you should be recognised!" 

The LUXlife extensive research and judging process is driven by merit and centred around an in-depth evaluation of skills and services on offer. Awardees must demonstrate expertise within their field, dedication to customer service and a commitment to promoting excellence.
